The evening consisted of a full 4-course meal, auction, and dancers! Entertainment was provided by the lovely Miss Lira and the charismatic Arno Carstens.
Technical equipment used for the main stage consisted of JBL VRX audio system with SRX 18″ bass sub-woofers. Crown 3600vz and 5002vz amplification was used to power the system. The lighting rig consisted of Martin Pro Mac Entour 250 fixtures, Brite Q BT91 LED Wash lights, Brite Q BT60 LED Spots, Versa-Lite LED ParCans, BriteQ BT36 Wash Lights and Stagg Head_Banger LED Wash Lights all controlled using the Avolites Titan Mobile Lighting Controller.
The set backdrop was filled with the poly-cut decor in diamonds, large colorful lightboxes and the Shimmy logo in blue. Recessed in these sets were two 10/7 projection screens. Christie Digital projectors were used to run live video feed, sponsor’s logos and presentations. There were 2 of our 60″ Samsung plasma screens set up on trussing and this along with the Shimmy’s screens were linked to our system using HDMI and DVI cabling.
The inside restaurant was lit up using Brite Q BT60 Spots and Versa-Lite LED Parcans. This gave a cool glow to the area which was exquisitely decorated by the awesome team at Something Different.
The night would not end there though, with The Global Party only getting started around 12 am with a host of DJs getting the groove on! With over 360 parties around the world in 3 days, the party would have the earth grooving for a worthy cause!
For the after-party, we set up a curved white gloss cladded stage, with our DJ Surround area having poly-cut “The Global Party” lyric. We set up a truss lighting rig using Martin Entour Mac250, Chauvet Strip LED lighting, Spectre 3D Lasers, and Futurelight 240 scanners.
The audio rig and DJ equipment supplied by the Shimmy Beach Club consists of a powered JBL VRX system, Pioneer CDJ2000s, and a DJM2000 Pioneer DJ Mixer.
It was a massive effort from our crew as all equipment was removed by 7 am the next morning. We’d also like to mention how great it was working with Instant Flooring and Toureg Tents for the event flooring and tent.
