AV Direct provided technical support for the IAOM International Conference at the CTICC. The event included a 3-Day conference and exhibition, with two gala dinner events around Cape Town, South Africa

With months of planning for such a large scale event, we set about designing a modern curved stage with a set surround that included floating recessed 16:9 format screens for HD Projection. A large backdrop was printed and attached to the set. Our white perspex lectern was used with a custom print of our client’s logo attached. Stage furniture for the panel was provided, while two large LCD screens were used as comfort monitors.

The venue was draped across and treated with special acoustic fabric to dampen the refracted audio during the conference. This allowed for more control with audio levels and cancelled most of the natural reverb in the large hall.

A stacked DB Tech audio system was used along with Turbosound Milan speakers used as delay speakers to create an even distribution of sound throughout the venue.

The first Gala Dinner was held at the classy Shimmy Beach Club. African entertainment and marimba band were on the cards for a great show. We supplied a white cladded stage with high gloss finish. A large screen was used as backdrop for the stage with images of African landscapes displayed.

The beautiful Lookout at the V&A Waterfront hosted the second Gala Evening for the IAOM International Conference. We installed a 20m truss beam above the stage to rig LED lighting which looked great in the venue. A white cladded stage was provided with a set surround consisting of poly-cut logo for the client. The night featured the awesome Smooth Jazz band from Cape Town!

The week-long conference was hailed a huge success and we are very proud to have assisted in creating a magical experience for all the delegates that were present in this beautiful city
