Africa Utility Week

This week, Cape Town plays host to the 11th Annual African Utility Week conference and exhibition. Featuring some of the finest speakers in Africa and from across the world, Africa’s largest conference and exhibition wilAfrica Utility Weekl take place from the 14th – 17th of March at the CTICC.
This year they welcome the Large Power Users Forum, as managing the cost of rising cost of energy in all sectors has become a fundamental focus point for many companies across the continent and energy security is crucial to a stable and developing economy.
AV Direct partnered Boabab Lifestyle in creating a environmentally positive exhibition set for Schneider Electric, who are primarily focused in creating renewable energy resources world-wide.

The nationwide launch for Ethicon Endo – Surgery Ltd (A member of the Johnson & Johnson’s group) was in aid of ongoing health-care support, better access to care, earlier detection and less invasive treatments, faster, easier healing and healthier patients who are enjoying their life again.

Cape Town Pride – Pink Ball

March saw the annual Cape Town Pride Festival take place across Cape Town. AV Direct was largely involved in supplying Staging, Audio, Lighting and a Dance Floor for the annual Pink Ball, which was held in side the Cape Town Stadium on March 3rd. Cape Town Pride Pink Ball
The evening was a huge success and saw the likes of comedian and performer Gino Fabbri perform, alongside Lola Lou and 3D, who gave some very interesting performances. Coco Hart and Jesse Jester gave the audience a very alluring Burlesque Striptease. A passionate speech by Melanie Nathan incurred the theme of the festival by challenging freedom of choice, non-discrimination and diversity world-wide.

Cape Town Pride’s Festival

The annual Cape Town Pride Festival climaxed when thousands of festival goers marched through the streets of Seapoint onto the Cape Town Stadium podium area. There, AV Direct had setup a 10m x 6m ground support stage with a JBL VRX Line array system to encompass the 4000 screaming fans who joined in the festivities. AV Direct also provided backline, stage lighting and stretch sets to add to this colourful event.  Cape Town Pride's Festival Parade
Among the performers were 3D, Chad Saaiman’s Satisfaction, Claire Philips, the ever-stunning Wendy Oldfield, Lola Lou, Alexis and ending with a frenetic performance from KillDisco, with DJ Brian Farrow keeping the crowd on their feet with his vigorous beats in between sets.
