Corporate Events Newsletter: May For Away

This month saw the *Yellow Magic* tour take place at the Turbine Hall in JHB and the Landbank in Cape Town.

Featuring hot new Cape Town act, *Good Luck*, the function included stilt walkers, magicians, popcorn and  gorgeous cakes provided by Wade’s Cakes.

After two successful celebrations, we now look forward to the Durban leg of the tour!

Waterscreen Video Projection for City Mission

City Mission partners with local and foreign ministries to assist families in becoming functional and self-reliant.

This year City Mission celebrates *109 years* of serving the poor and vulnerable of our communities.

AV Direct was to proud to assist City Mission in providing audio visual equipment for this celebration.

The evening filled with delight as the waterscreen was switched on, a memorable documentary on City Mission was played and crowds cheered as Wesley Grobler set off on his canoe through the screen for the finale!

A Wedding Delight

AV Direct assisted the Event & Wedding Emporium in providing lighting and structures for the fabulous wedding of Tsholo & Monametsi at Allee Bleue in Franschoek.

The beautiful downlighting of chandeliers created a warm glow and this gave the wedding marquee a lovely atmosphere.

DJ Sox was on hand to get the party started after dinner. This kicked off some serious lighitng effects and sweeping beams across the marquee.

Corporate Event News

Looking forward to a really exciting May in Cape Town, as the 2012 Marketing Indaba hits the shores on the 9th and 10th of May at the CTICC.

Elsewhere in South Africa, the Elizabeth Arden’s biggest make-up school takes to the road, with sessions in JHB, Cape Town and Durban.

New Products

New Audio Visual equipment in the form of Extron Dual Scalers and T-Bar Video Switchers has been added to our inventory this April. Allowing for smoother transitions between presentation and video footage.

Added to our lighting, are the new Versa-lite LED Par64 Cans. These durable lighting fixtures are super-bright and flexible for many applications. These will be available for hire come May.

The Audio Visual Waterscreen that we have designed has been doing a bit of work recently with two stunning events at the Eikendal Wine Estate. Although it’s going into winter now, expect this waterscreen to be a hit for corporate events and functions come Summer!

 

3D Venue Technical Design

A new service offered by AV Direct is that of a 3D Venue Technical Design.

This virtual event designer allows clients to visualize their function prior to event setup dates.

By including all technical elements such as, production lighting, sound, audio visual, staging and screens, along with table layout and decor, we can provide the client with a precise design indicating guests seating, table arrangement and overall function layout.

This offers a real solution to clients who are not familiar with a venue and need precise measurements to squeeze in those extra seats for a function.
