Event Greening Forum – Launched

On the 23rd of February 2011, The South African events industry took an important step towards a more sustainable future. Event Greening Forum - Launched

The Event Greening Forum had formally launched at Meetings Africa 2011. Eight representatives from key associations relating to Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events have pledged their support as founding members of the Event Greening Forum.

Dear Grace, this is a proud moment for the South African Events Industry, what is the response from Event Organisers?

“It has been really great, Event Greening is very much still a learning process in South Africa and we are very proud to have joined the International Focus on Sustainability and Climate Change in the broader events industry.”

Yes, with Energy prices on the rise, many organisers are looking to save money while caring for the environment. What are the most important things people need to know, and how do you go about informing the public?

“Training and awareness is certainly important, at our workshops we have an interactive discussion with the public and focus on Energy Efficiency, Procurement, Organizational and Individual Sustainability.”
