Elizabeth Arden’s biggest make-up school took place this May at the Sandton City mall.  This year’s event was managed by the fabulous Stretch Experiential Marketing group. AV Direct was proud to assist with audio visual equipment, staging and lighting.

Elizabeth Arden teamed up with Cosmopolitan to produce a magnificent show that was well attended and attracted hundreds of shoppers.

The event has been hailed a huge success by the wonderful team from Elizabeth Arden, we now look forward to working with them for the Cape Town and Durban legs of the show.

Yellow Magic Tour featuring Good Luck LIVE!

This month saw the *Yellow Magic* tour take place at the Turbine Hall in JHB and the Landbank in Cape Town.

Featuring hot new Cape Town act, *Good Luck*, the function included stilt walkers, magicians, popcorn and  gorgeous cakes provided by Wade’s Cakes.

After two successful celebrations, we now look forward to the Durban leg of the tour!

Waterscreen Video Projection for City Mission

City Mission partners with local and foreign ministries to assist families in becoming functional and self-reliant. Through long-term relationship mentoring, based on sound biblical principles, they are helping communities become non-dependant on aid.

This year City Mission celebrates *109 years* of serving the poor and vulnerable of our communities.

AV Direct was to proud to assist City Mission in providing *audio visual equipment* for this celebration.

Audio visual equipment including Extron seamless switchers with preview monitors, Christie LX700 Projector and Kramer scalers combined to run presentation and video footage through to rear-project onto the waterscreen.

A full colour graphic laser used to enhance the visuals on the waterscreen.

The evening filled with delight as the waterscreen was switched on, a memorable documentary on City Mission was played and crowds cheered as Wesley Grobler set off on his canoe through the screen for the finale!

A fantastic evening of celebration and awareness for the *City Mission project* which continues to grow. We are proud to be a part of the family.

Tsholo & Monametsi’s Wedding at Allee Bleue

AV Direct assisted the Event & Wedding Emporium in providing lighting and structures for the fabulous wedding of Tsholo & Monametsi at Allee Bleue in Franschoek.

Euroquad truss structures were setup including a 20m Apex truss beam, filled with Versa-Lite LED cans, BriteQ moving head wash lights and spectacular chandeliers. A 6m x 6m ground support system was built around the dancefloor. This included Futurelight scanners, BriteQ moving head spots, Martin Mac 250 Entour lights and a motorized projection screen.

The beautiful downlighting of chandeliers created a warm glow and this gave the wedding marquee a lovely atmosphere.

DJ Sox was on hand to get the party started after dinner. This kicked off some serious lighitng effects and sweeping beams across the marquee.

FAO – Fisheries & Aquaculture Departments Conference 2012

The wonderful 15 On Orange Hotel played host to the Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture conference held in March 2012. AV Direct assisted with audio visual equipment and event power distribution for the week-long conference.

Interpretation equipment, conference microphones and audio solutions were provided by specialists Fat Pony.

Dragonfly Event at The Grand Beach Cafe

AV Direct assisted Dragonfly Africa as they welcomed travellers across the world to the stunning set at the Grand Beach Cafe at Granger Bay in Cape Town. An evening filled with relaxing beats, african drums and zulu dancers!

Power distribution, plasma screens, intelligent lighting fixtures,  and videography was supplied for the event. With tables decked out along the sand and a beautiful sunset in the background, a pefect dinner filled with african entertainment followed.

Dimension Data Conference

AV Direct provided technical assistance for the Dimension Data conference held at The Forum in Johannesburg.  The conference included a formal gala dinner which featured SA band Watershed.

A detailed technical drawing was provided to the client to ensure that every specific requirement was met and thoroughly checked.

Stretch sets, staging, audio visual eqiupment, lighting and conference equipment was provided for the event, which was hailed a fantastic success.

Design Indabar 2012 Film Festival

The Design Indaba expo and film festivals ran this past month, and Interactive Africa along with Grolsch designed the concept of Design Indabar. It consisted of the creation of a bar and seating area inside two large white containers.

AV Direct was proud to assist Interactive Africa in supplying audio visual services for the event.

A Christie LX 700 projector was used to screen the SA short films onto the container.

DJ Equipment consisting of Pioneer CDJ900s and DJM 800 mixer was supplied for DJ Honey Bee, who mixed some chilled beats throughout the festival.

On the first night, Jeremy Loops played a live act which enthralled the audience with his unique style of beats and lyrical music.

The event was well attended by crowds after the Design Indaba Expo ended at the CTICC.

Guests were welcomed by an Ice-cold Grolsch and some divine Brandy sponsored by Barcode.

Apart from the awesome drinks were some delicious snacks provided by Calucci’s and Nando’s!
